Shabani Kinyogoli is a Research Scientist at the Africa Academy for Public Health (AAPH), specializing in computer science and data science with nine years of experience in clinical trials and research data management. He officially commenced his journey with AAPH in 2018, assuming the pivotal role of Data Manager for the Calcium Supplementation Clinical Trial.His journey in the healthcare realm began at the Ifakara Health Institute (IHI), where he served as an IT Assistant for the Neonatal Vitamin A Supplementation at Birth (Neovita) trial. Before joining AAPH, Shabani contributed significantly as a Data Logistician at Management and Development for Health (MDH), managing two clinical trials on Vitamin D supplementation among HIV patients in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Shabani's expertise extends to designing electronic data collection systems, and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of research activities. Throughout his career, he has developed and implemented various systems, including Clinical Trial Data Collection and Monitoring Systems, Data Reporting Systems, and Pharmacy Management Systems, showcasing his versatile skills in information technology and data management. He holds a BSc Degree in Computer Science and is currently pursuing a MSc degree in Data Science at the University of Dar es Salaam.
