AAPH launched its first strategic plan that coveres a period of three years, from 2018 to 2020 highlighting the organization’s mission, priorities, objectives and achievements. The strategic plan plots a three year-course for AAPH to set clear goals that it will strive to achieve within this period.
The current focus of AAPH is in advancing public health priorities of sub-Saharan Africa through innovative and collaborative collaborative research, training, capacity building and knowledge translation. In support of its primary mission, AAPH engages in a wide range of implementation science, public health training and capacity building activities and policy dialogues. Strategically placed, AAPH and its partners together offer rich expertise in understanding the overall local health and health systems challenges in Africa. Over the course of the plan, AAPH will strive to design and conduct innovative public health research and training activities aligned with our country’s priorities, similar to those of the sub-Saharan Africa, so as to contribute towards strengthening of our health systems and to the sustainable development goals at large.
The guest of honour was the Minister of Health, Ho. Ummy Mwalimu who also launched the Strategic Plan.
