Africa Academy for Public Health (AAPH) is at the 11th Tanzania Health Summit in Zanzibar from October 1st to 3rd 2024. We will showcase our impactful work at our exhibition booth and through abstract presentations.
Our team at the booth will highlight our projects focusing on reproductive and maternal health, child and adolescent health, mental health, and nutrition. Notable initiatives include School Health and Nutrition Programs such as the Rutubisha Afya Supplementation Project in Zanzibar. We would also like to interest you in the Being Mental Health Initiative, the Calcium Supplementation Clinical Trials, and the ARISE Network Sub-Saharan Adolescent and Youth Health Projects. Additionally, we will feature a screen showcasing documentaries and highlight videos of our Conferences, Symposia, Fieldwork, and Workshops, providing a visual insight into our impactful work and ongoing efforts.
In addition to our exhibition, our team will make several abstract presentations that delve into crucial health topics:
Dr. Yohana Laiser, Research and Program Officer at AAPH, will present on Family Planning and Nutrition Services in Tanzania: A Review of Policy and Program Documents. His session will focus on key strategies and recommendations for enhancing family planning and nutrition services across the country, scheduled for October 2nd, 2024, at 9:20 AM in Ngome Kongwe Hall Group B18.
Dr. Innocent Yusufu, Senior Research & Programs Manager, will share findings from the Being Initiative on engaging young people and individuals with lived experience in mental health from Tanzania and Ghana. This presentation will take place on October 2nd, 2024, at 1:00 PM in Ngome Kongwe Hall Group B37.
Amani Tinkasimile, Senior Manager for Strategic Partnerships and Programs at AAPH, will present pivotal findings on the co-occurrence of health risk behaviors among adolescents in Sub-Saharan Africa, China, and India. His presentation will explore the factors influencing youth health behaviors and discuss implications for future interventions. Last but not least, Dr. Kevin Kashamba, Research and Program Officer at AAPH, will speak on Overweight and Obesity among Adolescents in Zanzibar, based on evidence from a School-based cross-sectional survey. This abstract presentation will be on October 2nd, 2024, at 1:20 PM in Ngome Kongwe Hall Group C39.
